I have been in a lazy funk this winter. there are so many factors to wanting to amp up my style that i had to make some changes. Reasons for funk are: winter laziness, wanting a post baby make-over, my hair finally getting longer, and I have barely put any make up on in the last 6 months its embarrassing.
I think i have finally found a way to curl my hair to get the look i am wanting. I am inspired my one of the Olson twins (which one i have no idea, who can tell the difference?) Instead of trying to curl my hair all the way through the ends I stop a few inches from the bottom of each piece. The curl seems to come out better and it is giving my hair a fuller look. It also look more like the beach/loose curl I am looking for (at least I think so).

I also am starting a new concoction to help with the frizz and damage from always curling my hair and trying to grow it out. From what i understand Moroccan Oil is pretty popular right now and from a blog I learned that you can just add a few drops to a product your already using. I started using Matrix Heat Styler a month or so ago and I am liking it so far. I decided to try adding a few drops of Melaleuca oil to the Matrix. Melaleuca is actually just Tea Tree Oil and is supposed to be great for dry skin/scalp (and acne suprisingly). I am excited to see how this effects my Do in a month or so.
Next up, make-up. I am bored having used the same colors for probably the last 10 years and not changing anything. My lovely neighbor Tricia is a bit more daring than me in this area so she gave me some tips on how she does hers. I then gathered up my nerve and traveled to the Sephora store in Fashion Place. The end all for make-up. beware you can spend a small fortune in here but you can also go the cheaper way too. they dont just sell Sephora but tons of other brands so there is a HUGE variety to choose from. I picked out a new blush (from a tut from the same blog i mentioned above, I'll get to that later), a gel eye liner, and some eye shadow. Once i got home i thought i could do better on the eye shadow selection and ended up going back the next day and finding this awesom steal for only $34.

Everything i need to experiment to my hearts desire. I had originally had a small compact with 5 colors that i paid a whopping $25 for. For $10 more i got 63 colors to choose from. Yippee-yo-kiyee!All the colors pop out and you can create your own color pallet or downsize for travel. LOVE IT! Now all i need is to hit Walmart for a packet of disposable eye shadow applicators and I am set.
Now for the blog, I came accross this through pinterest and this girl is genius. She does fun stuff with hair and make up and I've learned a few things. Her name is Kara and she lives in St George. She is a make up artist and her sister is a hairstylist so she uses lots of tips from her. If you look through the blog you will probably see lots of things that you've also seen on Pinterest.
One other thing and I'm done rambling. Evelyn and I came across a boutique in AF. Its called Sexy Modest, its right next to the movie theater next to the freeway. Why is it awesome you ask; it's boutique style but nothing over $50! ya I said it, NOTHING OVER $50! next time you on a spree, stop in and check it out, super cute cardi's.
